Our Story

About African Creative

Founder and owner, Jason Rosenstein, first developed relationships with wire and bead artists on the streets of Cape Town in 2004.  He took their crafts and helped them reach customers beyond the next street corner. The collaboration helped local talents grow their skills and support their families while Jason continued to find more and more artists and designers with an incredible array of products that’s uniquely African.

Sourcing African creativity

For more than a decade now, African Creative has been the trusted dealer of premium African artworks and designs while maintaining ethical working relationships with our sources. Our economic success is passed onto our artists, designers and craftsmen as we continue to strive for entrepreneurial empowerment and fair trade principles. We are the go-to supplier for many upmarket boutiques, lodges, African art shops and museum shops both in Southern Africa and international destinations.

While we produce wire and bead art in-house, our focus is sourcing a wide range of hand-crafted unique African designer products, including jewellery, home décor, textiles, handbags, tableware and children’s products for our customers.

Conservation initiatives

In 2013 we launched The Locked Horn Project in collaboration with StopRhinoPoaching.Com to raise funds for the war on rhino poaching. For every beaded Locked Horn Rhino purchased, 15% is donated to support rhino conservation projects. Help us save this majestic species! Go to http://lockedhornproject.com/ for more info.

African Creative is also a proud supporter of SANCCOB, a leading marine non-profit organization, in their plight to conserve seabirds and other sea-life, especially threatened species such as the African Penguin.

“Living wild species are like a library of books still unread. Our heedless destruction of them is akin to burning the library without ever having read its books.”
